Ulysses Morris earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Alabama State University, and master’s degrees, also from Alabama State University, in biology and secondary education. He has taught in public school for seven years, private schools for four years, and was also a part-time lecturer at Lehigh Carbon Community College and Reading Area Community College, teaching biology and preparing nursing students. Mr. Morris joined the Newark Boys Chorus School community in 2011, and enjoys serving as the Academic Director. He currently teaches Physical Science and Chemistry to 8th grade students.
Among other interest, Ulysses is passionate about mentoring young men. His mentoring program, Distinguished Gentlemen, has helped to transform young men from poverty to success. The program focuses on resiliency, perseverance, grit and overcoming obstacles to achieve success. Ulysses Is currently working on his first motivational novel for urban youths that will be finished in the fall.
