NEWARK BOYS CHORUS SCHOOL
VIRTUAL RAINBOW GALA – PART 2
COVID-19 has affected us all, and our thoughts and prayers go out to those that have been impacted by the pandemic. As you know, back in April of this year, the Newark Boys Chorus School (NBCS) had to make its 45th Annual Rainbow Gala a two part virtual event.
NBCS prides itself on being a tuition free academic and musical institution, and the Annual Rainbow Gala serves as the school’s largest fundraiser. Part 1 of the Gala proved to be a huge success, thanks in large part to our generous supporters!
While Part 1 of the Gala helped raise significant funds, we are still short of our goal needed to keep the school open next year. In addition, we are in the midst of a historic relocation and restoration project. In 2021, the NBCS will be moving into its new home, the Historic State Street School; Newark’s oldest-standing public school erected in 1845, originally serving as the School for Colored Children.
