The NBCS 48th Annual Rainbow Gala Awards Dinner on March 29th was a beautiful event, recognizing our outstanding young men and the accomplishments of important community leaders. This fundraiser comes at a critical time of need for NBCS to maintain programming for its students.
Our gathering at Nanina’s in the Park featured the NBCS Concert Chorus and guests who celebrated Honorees: Dr. Marion Bolden (Former Superintendent of Newark Public Schools), Shadae McDaniel (All Stars of NJ), Diane L. Parker (PGIM Fixed Income), Richard Allaway NBCS’84 (HRO.guide), and Cathy Merlino, posthumously (Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ).
The evening focused on the important role NBCS plays in Newark and throughout the US as a beacon of social justice and equity in action. Honorees spoke to invited guests about the responsibility each one has to support and maintain the important work of NBCS and the students who attend the school tuition-free.
