Hahne & Co. Atrium Spring Concert

May 23. With sounds of Broadway classics and jazz tunes made famous by Newark song writers, the Newark Boys Chorus and the New Jersey Chamber Players entertained an enthusiastic lunchtime crowd in the new atrium of the Hahne's building in downtown Newark.

The free concert was sponsored by PSEG. Rick Thigpin, President of the PSEG Foundation opened the program by highlighting the collaboration among the Hahne's Corporation, NJSO, NBCS and PSEG. "What a great way to celebrate spring in Newark and to highlight two of our most popular music programs," stated Thigpin.

The NJSO Chamber Players began the program with selections from the Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story and Phantom of the Opera. The Chorus performed several of its classic songs including, Give Us Hope, We're the Music Makers and Newark 350.

The program concluded with maestro Morris conducting the combined groups with "Laudamus Te" from Gloria (Vivaldi) and "I Believe."

An extended standing ovation from the audience showed how much they appreciated everyone's contributions to the program.

Ingrid Novak, Director of Institutional Giving at NJSO summed it up with, "I thank you and your colleagues at PSE&G for making an event like this happen! The concert was AWESOME and I’ve gotten so much great feedback. We look forward to future events!"
