Forbes Impact Summit

Tuesday, June 12. Forbes Impact brought over 150 members of their Forbes Impact Investing community to spend the day in Newark, NJ. The day included tours of AeroFarms' 30,000 square foot Indoor Farm while the Forbes Impact Walking Tours of Downtown Newark highlighted many of the Impact Investments that are revitalizing the city including the newly renovated Hahne & Co. Building, the new Prudential Financial Tower, Rutgers Honors Living-Learning Community, Teachers Village and Amazon’s Audible. Tour participants heard firsthand from the Investors and Developers that are transforming the city and fueling its rebirth. The afternoon plenary sessions at Express Newark were kicked off in style with a moving series of songs performed by the Newark Boys Chorus under the direction of Donald Morris. Between songs, Rich Willett, Head of the Newark Boys Chorus School, talked about the school's critical mission of transforming young boys' lives. "We really couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and fitting way to open the Forbes Impact Summit," said Forbes Impact co-founder Paul Noglows. "The Newark Boys Chorus provided a moving and real-life example of Impact-in-Action and we cannot thank them enough. We know that solving the world's greatest challenges most often begins close-to-home and the Newark Boys Chorus embody the best of Newark's revitalization and rebirth."
