2017-2018 School Year

September 2017.  The upcoming school year promises a major milestone for the 48 year old Newark Boys Chorus School!  By seeking reaccreditation by the Middle States Association of Schools and an initial accreditation by the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools, NBCS will be recognized as a premier independent school in New Jersey by two nationally recognized accrediting organizations. 

Newark Boys Chorus School goes high-tech with help from community partner Horizon.

January 2018. Dr. Peter Lewis, head of the Winston School in Short Hills has agreed to chair the joint Visiting Committee for Accreditation the Newark Boys Chorus School. As the head of Winston he brings a strong independent school background to his upcoming role at NBCS.

February 2018.  The Concert Chorus participated in the second annual celebration of the United States District Court:  Annual Black History Program.

In the age of social media and social awareness, our ELAL teacher, Ms. Gerardi, started a YouTube channel and Twitter account to build relationships with other classrooms, students, and educators.
