Hello Parents and Families of NBCS!
The school year has gotten off to an exciting start and the boys are singing and learning and playing as if Summer was a distant memory. The Concert Chorus spent three days at Frost Valley Music Camp and came back to ready to fly. Frost Valley activities pictured above included archery - boys in rehearsal, led by guest instructor, Michael Sheetz, assistant Music Director of Musica Sacra - and boating. Our Apprentice Chorus has many new faces and they are finding their voices, learning basic musicianship skills. From my office I enjoy hearing both choruses rehearse and I am so impressed with the progress. I can’t wait to hear them in concert!
The academic classes have jumped right into curriculum with new initiatives in Science and Social Studies. Our youngest students are exploring new books in language arts class while our 8th graders are researching pertinent topics in the news. Math class is in full swing, challenging all of our young men. It has been an altogether fabulous opening to the year and we are looking toward many new and innovative experiences for our students at NBCS.
Back-to-School Night September 25th at 5:00
A reminder that our Back-to-School Night is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25th and will begin at 5:00. This is an important night for finding out about your son’s program and curriculum for each class. It’s also a time to hear teachers talk about programmatic details and expectations for each of our students. I hope you will all be available to attend. Please come with questions and ideas for strengthening the partnerships we have worked to build together. It will be an exciting evening and a vital opportunity for the whole NBCS family to connect. Please feel free to be in touch if you have questions.
